In this model lesson for English teachers, we explore how the Life, Third Edition program brings real world contexts and visual literacies to life in the English classroom. This session demonstrates practical ways teachers can help students talk about routines, describe seasonal changes, and compare daylight hours and temperatures around the world while confidently using the Present Simple tense.

You’ll experience how infographics and other visual materials can be used to spark observation, comparison, and richer classroom discussion—encouraging learners to think critically about global patterns and their own experiences.

For teachers, the key takeaway is a set of ready to use strategies for integrating inquiry, visual analysis, and language practice in a cohesive way. You’ll see how Life supports the development of students’ critical thinking and visual literacy skills, and how you can use these tools to create more meaningful communication activities that connect English learning with the real world.
