The demand for Academic English has grown dramatically in recent decades, and it is now taught to both university students and high school-aged students. As more teachers are asked to teach Academic English, many perceive it as complex and specialist when compared to general English. This webinar will challenge these perceptions. We will:

• Explore how Academic English can be engaging, accessible, and relevant to learners' real lives.

• Learn how to balance generalist and specialist topics and vocabulary.

• Discover that the skills taught on academic courses are the same skills that students can use in both their everyday lives and academic studies.

The session will include practical classroom activities from National Geographic Learning's Pathways and Reflect series to support your teaching. You'll leave the webinar with a deeper understanding of Academic English and the confidence to teach engaging Academic English lessons.
