While we usually have class indoors, kids just want to have fun. The best place to have a fun time is outside in the sun; get away from the screens and out into the real world with your friends.  How do you have fun in the sun?  In this model lesson for young-learner English teachers, we go through parts of the Our World, Second Edition unit "Fun in the Sun", talking about things we like to do outdoors and with our friends. We will look at using writing and a project as formative assessment, and also show how the online 'Spark' platform can be used to provide at-home digital practice (auto-graded to make a teacher's life easier!) and the insights we can get from how the learners practice.

Andrew Tiffany is a Senior Academic Consultant and teacher trainer for National Geographic Learning.  Andrew has over 25 years of teaching experience, 18 of which were focused on teaching and teacher training in Asia.  He has a Masters degree and TEFL certification and has worked with both EFL learners and international school learners from PreK-12, both in English and subject content.
