OVERVIEW

The world of remote and online learning can be overwhelming, particularly for ESL students and faculty. In this workshop, participants will learn practical ways to incorporate a variety of online resources into their learning platform (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, etc.). If you’re struggling with the transition to remote learning, or if you’re just looking for a few new tips or pointers, join us as we share best practices and explore creative ways to engage your ESL students – remotely!    
 

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Jacob Skelton is an Assistant Professor of English as a Second Language and Chair of the Department of Global Languages and Society at Los Angeles Mission College in California. Jacob holds an MA in linguistics, has over 15 years of experience in the field of TESOL, and has taught at the community college level for more than ten years. In addition to teaching, Jacob specializes in educational technology, and he has given numerous presentations on how to incorporate learning management systems such as Canvas, Blackboard, or Desire2Learn into ESL courses at conferences like TESOL all over the United States.
