Join Series Editor Jodi Crandall and Managing Editor Brenden Layte to learn all about the new features in the second edition of Impact, a National Geographic Learning series for teen English language learners. Jodi and Brenden will walk you through several exciting additions to the series, including new National Geographic Explorers, fully-reviewed student choice activities, a brand-new Starter level, and more scaffolded practice activities for language and skills development. Come see how this new edition helps your teen learners explore who they are and who they want to be, with updates that make it easier to teach than ever! Audience questions and participation are encouraged.

Dr. JoAnn (Jodi) Crandall is Professor Emerita and former Director of the Language, Literacy and Culture Ph.D. Program, and Co-Director of the MA TESOL Program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Prior to joining the faculty at UMBC in 1992, she was Vice President of the Center for Applied Linguistics in Washington, DC. Dr. Crandall is a Series Editor, with Dr. Joan Kang Shin, for Our World, National Geographic Learning’s program for young learners of English; Explore Our World, a light and lively version of Our World; Welcome to Our World, a three-level pre-primary series for very young learners of English; and Impact, Second Edition, for teenage learners of English.

Brenden Layte is a Managing Development Editor at National Geographic Learning. He has an MA in Applied Linguistics from Boston University with a focus on psycholinguistics, as a well as a TEFL diploma. Brenden has worked in educational publishing for over 15 years and has teaching experience in the United States and Thailand. He previously served on the board of directors for the Barrio Planta Project, an organization that brings free supplemental education to students in Nicaragua.
